Northbound drivers will no longer be able to turn right into Portlethen at the junction nearest Cammachmore, and those leaving the town to travel north to Aberdeen will be forced to use the Badentoy flyover or the Marywell junction. The junction has been the scene of several serious accidents and moves to improve safety on the A90 will include traffic lights at Badentoy.

Traffic changes arising from the new Chapelton development are also prompting the moves, which will be introduced in 2017.
